The death of a loved one can be an incredibly difficult experience to cope with. It’s natural to feel a deep sense of loss and grief, but it can also be comforting to think that your loved one is still with you in some way. But how do you know if someone who has passed away is with you? In this blog post, we’ll explore the signs that may indicate that your loved one is still around.
Visits
When my brother passed away, a few days after his death, I distinctly heard his voice outside my right ear and he said "Deb, I am OK, I am really happy". I then had a vivid vision of him hugging me and telling me that everything I believed in life after death was true. He looked absolutely elated, despite the fact he had taken his life.
Signs from Nature
One of the most common signs that someone who has passed away may still be with you is through nature. This could include seeing a butterfly or other animal that was special to them, or finding a feather or other natural object in an unexpected place. Paying attention to these signs can provide comfort and reassurance that your loved one is still around. In my case, when my brother took his life, I used to find green feathers everywhere. I once found a small one on a plane when I was flying to Melbourne.
Dreams
Another sign that someone who has passed away may be with you is through dreams. Dreams can often provide insight into our subconscious thoughts and feelings, and they can also be a way for our loved ones to communicate with us after they have passed away. If you’ve been dreaming about your loved one, it could be a sign that they are still around in some way.
I have had a number of unique dreams about my brother Gary, and also about my parents. I have often woken up and felt that I had been with my family.
Synchronicities
Synchronicities are events or occurrences that seem to happen by chance but have some kind of deeper meaning behind them. These could include hearing their favourite song on the radio at just the right moment, seeing their name on a billboard, or finding something special of theirs when you least expect it. Paying attention to these kinds of events can help you recognise when your loved one is trying to communicate with you from beyond the grave. When my father-in-law passed, on the day I was sent to the supermarket to get some food for the family, and the supermarket was playing Jazz on the intercom. Jazz was Geoff's favourite music and I felt his presence.
Near Death Experiences
You may also find comfort by watching videos or reading about people's Near Death Experiences, or NDE's. I have been studying NDE's for over 35 years and they have proven to me, without a doubt, that we exist after this life. You may like to watch my interview with David Ditchfield who had a profound NDE and when he recovered he became and artist and composer despite never having any training.
Intuition
Sometimes the best way to know if someone who has passed away is still with you is simply by trusting your intuition. Intuition can often provide us with insight into things we don’t understand consciously, so if something feels like it might be coming from your loved one, it’s worth paying attention to it and exploring further.
No matter what signs or signals you receive from beyond the grave, remember that each person’s experience will be unique and personal in its own way. Trusting yourself and paying attention to any messages or signs from your loved ones will help bring comfort during this difficult time of grief and loss.
